He said Indian captain is a best friend to him because we
both belong to Punjabi family and have similar temperaments: Former Speed
Star Akhtar.
Akhtar stated Captain Virat Kohli, the Indian cricket team,
as saying he had been the best friend on the ground while the worst foe on the
field. Shoaib Akhtar told Sanjay Manjrekar that Virat is his best friend
because we both belong to a Punjabi family and we both have the same temperament,
speaking to former Indian cricketer now turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar on
live video cast.
Shoaib Akhtar said Virat's much younger than him, but with
his whole heart, he still respects him. Prior to this, Akhtar said how he would
have bowled Kohli if they had a contest. He said that if he had been bowling,
he would have gone wider on the crease and bowled the ball to Kohli wider and
drove it away from him to drive, and if that didn't work, he would have bowled
him with a speed of 150 kmph. It may be recalled that earlier.
