The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have signed agreements with Israel, hosted by the United States.


The ceremony was hosted by President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday. The ceremony was attended by Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani.


After signing the agreement, the leaders unveiled the agreement documents in the presence of President Trump.


It may be recalled that the United Arab Emirates had agreed to establish relations with Israel on August 13, while Bahrain had announced to establish relations with Israel only last week.


Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdul Latif bin Rashid called the agreement with Israel the first important step.

Abdul Latif bin Rashid said, "We now have a duty to play an immediate and active role in bringing lasting peace and security to our people."


According to him, a just, comprehensive, and lasting two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict will be the basis of peace.


On the occasion, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the peace agreement would spread to other Arab countries, and eventually, the Arab-Israeli conflict would end forever.


Netanyahu also thanked the administration of US President Donald Trump and said that thanks to the efforts of President Trump, a historic agreement has been signed today.


"In more than 50 years, only two countries have established relations with Israel, and in one month we have shown that two Arab countries have signed a peace treaty with Israel," President Trump said on the occasion.


Earlier, during a meeting with Bahrain's foreign minister at the Oval Office, President Trump said, "We have chosen a completely different path." You can call it 'back door' but I call it the smart door.

Remember that before Israel and Bahrain, Egypt and Jordan had established relations with Israel. Thus, the number of Arab countries establishing diplomatic relations with Israel has increased to four.


On the other hand, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Ishtiaq condemned the agreement between Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates with Israel, saying that today is the darkest day in the history of Arab countries.


The Palestinian policy network's think tank Al-Shabaka said the agreement to restore relations between Bahrain and Israel was proof that Arab governments were denying the 2002 peace process.
