Kasur : A police constable shot dead a young Quran memorizer
in front of his father in Kasur, notorious for child abuse.
According to the FIR, Qari Khalil-ur-Rehman was going to the
mosque with his sons Sami-ur-Rehman and Safi-ur-Rehman for Fajr prayers in
Khadian Khas. On the way, police constable Masoom Ali also came to the street
corner and expressed wrong wish to Samiullah. The constable threatened the
young man, who had memorized the Qur'an, to kill him if his wish was not granted
on Eid. When the young man refused to comply with the constable's wishes, he
became enraged and shot the young man in front of his father and brother.
According to DPO Kasur, the accused involved in the murder
of a youth in Khadian police station area was arrested in a very short time of
one hour. He said that the incident of murder of young Hafiz Sami-ur-Rehman was
very unfortunate and all the requirements of justice would be met by the police
and the accused would be punished.
