On the international border in Kathua district of the Jammu and Kashmir, officials said that on Monday, a pigeon, alleged to have been trained by Pakistan for spying in India.

They said that, shortly after it had flown into this side from Pakistan, the pigeon was caught by residents of Manyari village in Hiranagar area.

Concerned security agencies are working to decipher the "coded message," said an officials.

iiSenior Police Superintendent of Kathua Shailendra Mishra said: "The villagers handed the Pigeon to local police station yesterday. A ring has been seen attached to it's one leg , with a code written on it, and a probe is on." (PTI)
